Richard D. Crawford
Mr. Crawford’s experience includes management positions with major financial service firms, including Citigroup and Dean Witter, and the founding of an internet-based online venture fair service. Mr. Crawford was an Echols Scholar and earned from the University of Virginia, a B.A. in Economics from the McIntire School of Commerce, an MBA from the Darden School of Business, and a law degree. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Mr. Crawford has authored 14 technical articles and over 40 copyrighted and numbered Darden Graduate Business School Case Studies and Technical Notes. He is a noted author and co-author of several books on finance, lending and management. Mr. Crawford continues to teach programs for Darden and author case studies. Mr. Crawford is on the Volunteer Board of the UVA Art Museum and heads the new Development Committee for the Art Museum. Mr. Crawford co-founded the Virginia Active Angel Network, an angel investing group with chapters in Blacksburg/Roanoke, Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia. He is also a frequent panelist on early and seed-stage funding and recently was awarded the 2007 “Navigator Award” from the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC) for his work bringing early and seed-stage funding to “the rest of Virginia” (ROVA).
